The HCP does not have access to independent external funding. Officers and board members attending meetings of the HCP do so as part of their existing roles in their respective organisations; the core team of the HCP is funded from contributions from the HCP partner organisations. Its financial focus is upon the most effective use of the ’Sheffield pound’ (money coming into the city to fund the various aspects of health and social care). This is achieved by enabling transformational service changes across the Sheffield health and social care system which would not be possible without working collaboratively. By working together, the partners can bid for additional national resources or access alternative funding sources which would not be available to individual organisations.
